Mark Rattigan of Merideon Wealth Strategies has been named AFA Rising Star of the Year for 2011.
Mark became a financial planner in 2008 after working for a number of years as a stockbroker. In 2009, he established Merideon Wealth Strategies – an award winning, fee-for-advice financial planning business based in Mandurah, WA licensed under AXA Financial Planning.
Mark is passionate about his business, and how good financial advice can change people’s lives. Since its inception, Merideon has grown from being a sole practitioner business to employing three specialist advisers and two support staff, and servicing over 250 clients.
When he’s not working, Mark helps the local business community as Vice President of the Peel Chamber of Commerce, and by holding or speaking at business education seminars.
Mark recently launched ‘Healthy, Wealthy and Wine!’ – an initiative focused on finance and health education for woman via regular seminars and online information. He is currently developing Business Finance and Planning workshops with a local accountant and a ‘Foundations of Wealth’ series of financial training videos.
Mark is a dedicated family man and loves spending as much time with his wife and two beautiful children as possible (which he hopes will increase over the next few years).
Mark was presented with the award at the AFA National Conference, which was held at the Gold Coast on 23 October.
